Here’s what community members think about What was That?

I’m not a radio guy, I don’t like the narrow representation and repeated songs. But I find myself really enjoying What Was That? and Jon’s wonderful selection of songs. I have discovered a lot of new songs and artists, and Jon’s participation with the listeners makes you feel like you’re part of a community.

So much new music! Great for discovering artists and songs to add to my playlists. And a fantastic host.

I have been listening six hours a day at work from day one. A fantastic eclectic mix of music, few if any repeats, interesting backstories, and no commercials. What more could you want?

The organic evolution of radio and the host.
Wow, can’t say enough or get enough of the eclectic selection of new music!
Tired of the monotonous humdrum of commercial radio? What was That is the cure!
No ads. Just a pure quality platform. Something we’ve been missing and craving.
I’ve been following Jon since he first started at The Zone @ 91-3 ten years ago.
The kid from across the pond landed late at night.
Not just a radio voice, but real personality shone through. His honesty and spirit.
How over the years he grew and evolved into his own.
I think he’s created an amazing platform for artists and their talent here.
This is the evolution of radio. It started by creating an audience and community.
Organically grown over the course of a decade.

Jon, you made at least one kid’s day today!
Your lego rap was out of this world. Dev was rolling on the floor when he heard it live and jumping up and down when he played it for his dad later 😃. I’ve got to say it again, we are enjoying the station so much and we hope you keep building momentum with your subscribers.
You’re on to something here and we’ll be with you all the way!

Some people merely listen to music, and others live and breathe to the sound of music. What Was That? is a station for people forever searching for the soundtrack of their lives at this moment in time. Add in the ultra-positive, supportive community and you’ve got yourself a recipe for a whole listening experience, not just another boring repetitive radio show.

For a long time, I couldn’t stand regular radio stations. As they would only have 30 to 50 songs on their playlist and rotate them. Making the songs repetitive and the station boring. And playing the same songs for months and months at a time. Then I heard Jon and his interesting taste in music and local musicians. Followed him here from the mainstream station. And wow this is exactly what the world needs! Local music, soo many different genres and styles, and soo much music I could never get sick of a song! Plus giving back to the musicians that make this wonderful music!

I’m very impressed and happy with how this station and community has rapidly evolved and excited to see whats next for What was That?
